Wanna Be Butter Chicken

INGREDIENTS

1 pound chicken thighs (skinless and boneless cut into small pieces)

1 onion finely chopped

1 tablespoon of fresh ginger and garlic

1 tsp of cumin seeds

2-4 large cardomoms (I forgot to add this in my recipe but these will give an amazing flavor)

1 cup of plain yogurt
-
4 tablespoons of tomato paste
-
2 tsp of coriander powder
-
1 tsp of kashmiri red chili powder
-
1 tsp of garam masala
-
1 tablespoon of kasoori methi
-
1/2 tsp of honey
-
2 tablespoons of neutral oil

Cilantro for garnish
Who doesn’t love butter chicken?? I think I could eat it every day, so, in order to satisfy my cravings for butter chicken, I came up with a wanna be butter chicken recipe which is a faster and healthier version of the original dish.
- Blend the yogurt and tomato paste in a nutri bullet and set it aside
- Heat the oil in a pan and add cumin seeds
- Once they start to splatter, add onions and cook for 5-7 minutes till they are golden brown
- Add ginger and garlic and cook for 2 minutes
- Add the yogurt and tomato paste sauce, salt, kashmiri red chili powder, and coriander powder, mix really well and cook for a few minutes till the color changes to orange
- Add chicken, mix well, cook on low flame with the lid closed for 10-12 minutes
- Half way through, add the kasoori methi, and honey
- Once cooked, garnish with cilantro
