Rasmalai cannoli with chocolate chips is an innovative, fun, and luscious fusion Indian dessert that you will want at your Diwali table! It’s another semi-homemade dessert that actually requires zero cooking!
I love cooking and creating new recipes but I am always looking for recipes that can shave off cooking time. We live such hectic lives that we don’t want to spend hours cooking. This recipe comes together in under 15 minutes and does not disappoint.
To prepare this decadent dessert I use store-bought rasmalai, and cannoli shells. I chop the rasmalai into small pieces and add chocolate chips to the mix. I stuff the cannoli with this mixture and garnish with pistachios.
Which rasmalai do I use for this recipe?
I used Nanak’s rasmalai, but you can use your favorite rasmalai. Haldiram’s rasmalai is also delicious.
Where can I buy the cannoli shells from for Rasmalai cannoli recipe?
I ordered them from amazon. I chose to use small cannoli shells but feel free to use large ones too.
Can I make this ahead of time?
You can make the rasmalai cannoli with chocolate chips in the morning and refrigerate it if you are planning on serving it at night. Unfortunately, you cannot make it a day or two ahead as the cannoli shells may get soggy from the rasmalai.
What if I don’t want to use chocolate chips?
If you don’t like chocolate you can completely skip it and serve the dessert just with rasmalai or try some of the following options:
- Pineapple
- Mango
- Pistachios
