What’s not to love about one-pot dishes?
They are quick to make and easy to clean especially during holidays. I am a big fan of dishes that don’t take up oven space and this dish does just that! You will absolutely love my one-pot pork chops with cream of mushroom recipe! It screams flavor, taste, comfort, and deliciousness!

Is it Thanksgiving already?
It’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving is less than two weeks ago. I feel like I am still in food come from Diwali! I absolutely love Thanksgiving as it is truly the best time of the year. Everyone is in such a festive mood, and more relaxed and everyone is in the kitchen cooking, which of course is my favorite thing to do!

As much as I love and appreciate traditional Thanksgiving dishes, I also love experimenting with food which is where this dish comes in. I hope you enjoy making and eating this recipe as much as my family and I did!

How do I make pork chops with cream of mushroom?
I start off by making an easy rub for the pork chops using pantry ingredients. If you don’t feel like making the rub, you can use your favorite rub. This is a pretty relaxed and fuss-free recipe.

I cook the pork chops with ginger and garlic paste till golden brown. I then go in with sliced onions, and mushrooms and let them sweat for a few minutes. Then I add a can of cream of mushroom soup with a dash of chicken broth and allow it to cook on low flame for 15-18 minutes.

What kind of pork chops did I use for this recipe?
I like the thin bone-in pork chops, but you can use any pork chops of your choice. If you decide to use the thick pork chops, they may take a little extra time to cook.

Which cream of mushroom did I use for one-pot pork chops with cream of mushroom.
I used canned cream of mushroom soup that I picked up from WholeFoods. You can use any canned cream of mushroom soup. You can certainly make your own too but I prefer to use the canned one as it is a time saver.

Can I bake the pork chops?
Yes! I chose to cook it on the stovetop as a one-pot dish to save oven space, but you can definitely bake your pork chops in the oven and then add them to the cream of mushroom soup.

  1. Make the spice rub by mixing all the ingredients listed under the spice rub section in a bowl
  2. Rub a generous amount of spice rub on each side of the pork chops and reserve some for later
  3. Heat oil in a pan
    TIP:
Use the biggest pan you have as the onions and mushrooms need some room to cook
  4. Add in the ginger and garlic paste and cook for 30 seconds
  5. Add in the pork chops and cook on each side till they are golden brown (5-7 minutes on each side and longer if they are thick pork chops)
  6. Add in the sliced onions and mushrooms and mix them in gently and allow to sweat for 5 minutes
  7. Sprinkle in some of the reserved rub – this is optional
  8. Add in the cream of mushroom soup and chicken broth
  9. Mix everything well and allow to cook on low flame for 10-15 minutes with the lid closed
    TIP:
You can also finish the dish in the oven. Heat the oven at 375 degrees and cook (without the lid) for 10-15 minutes or till the chops are tender
  10. Garnish with red pepper flakes and thyme and serve and immediately!
